Email support@thepressline.app. We read everything. There is no account system, so nothing is lost by writing from whichever address suits you.
Reporting a wrong or missing score
This is the most useful thing you can tell us, and the easiest one to fix. Please include:
- the two teams and the date of the match
- what the app showed you, and what it should have shown
- roughly what time you were looking, and whether the match was still in play
- web, iPhone or Android
A screenshot answers most of that at once.
Why a score can look wrong
Scores reach us from a third-party football data provider and are shown as they arrive. While a match is in play we refresh roughly every 15 to 30 seconds, so a goal can appear here a little after you hear about it elsewhere. Providers also correct themselves, most often over who scored, or a goal later given as an own goal. Where we disagree with the competition organiser, the organiser is right.
Alerts
Alerts are part of the mobile apps and are off until you turn them on. Star a match or a team to follow it, then choose what you want to hear about:
- Goals, on by default, naming the scorer
- Kick-off and half time, off by default
- Full time, off by default
Only goals are on to begin with, deliberately. The other two are a buzz for something the app shows you the moment you open it.
An alert did not arrive
Delivery runs through Apple’s and Google’s notification services, so it depends on your device, your connection and your battery settings as much as on us. Worth checking in order:
- notifications are allowed for Pressline in your phone’s system settings
- you are actually following that match or team, and the star is filled
- the alert kind is switched on, since kick-off and full time are off by default
- battery saver or a focus mode is not holding notifications back
If you declined the notification prompt once, some phones never ask again, and the app has no way to re-ask. Turning notifications on in system settings is the only route back.
Turning alerts off, and removing your data
Switch alerts off in the app, or revoke notification permission in your phone’s settings, and delivery stops. Deleting the app invalidates its notification token, and the record we hold goes once the platform tells us the token is dead. On the website, clearing your browser data clears everything, because nothing you do there is stored with us. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is held and why.
Common questions
Do I need an account? No. There is no sign-up and no sign-in, and we never ask for your name or email.
Where does the data come from? Fixtures, scores, tables and statistics come from API-Football. News headlines come from ESPN and open on the publisher’s own site.
Can I use it in light mode? Yes. Settings offers Dark, Light, or following your system, on the web and in both apps.
Why can I not see a competition? Coverage follows what our data provider carries. Tell us which one is missing and we will look.
Is this a betting service? No, and it should not be used as one. See the terms of use.
